Turneffe Islands Dive Sites
Listed below is a selection of some of the best dive sites around the Turneffe Islands. We have only briefly listed the points of interest.
These are major dive attractions and are known to the diving freternity world wide. A detailed description is outside of the cope of our site.
The Aquarium
Depth:12 feet (3.6 M), Current: light, Visibily: good, Level: novice, Points of Interest: variety of small corals and a profusion of small reef fishes, numerous tunneks, arches, good undewater photography.
Triple Anchors
Depth:40-60 ft (12-18 meters), Current: Minimal, Visibily: 60 ft (18 meters) , Level: Novice, Points of Interest: scattered remnants of an early 18th century vessel,
including a few artifacts and three anchors, sponges.
Hollywood
Depth:20-50 ft (6-15 meters), Current: None, Visibily: 50 ft (15 meters) low, Level: Novice, Points of Interest: good for Snorkelers
and getting comfortable diving the offshore atolls, giant brain, club finger grooved fungus, large cactus, rare rose, large cupped boulder and
polygonal corals, sea feathers and sea fans, big coral heads, barracudas, trumpet, queen angels, grunts and snappers are sure to be
seen.
Susies's Shallows
Depth: 15 feet (5 m), Current: light, Visibily: good, Level: Novice, Points of Interest: especially good place to photograph, coral head rise up to surface.
Permit Paradise
Depth:35-60 ft (11-18 meters), Current: Minimal, Visibily: 60
ft (18 meters, Level: , Points of Interest: Frequented by many Permit fish, sea feathers, many fast fish, lace corals, candelabra and black coral.
Wreck of Sayonara
Depth: 30-60 ft (9-18 meters), Current: None, Visibily: Visibility: 50 ft (15 meters), Level: Novice, Points of Interest:good for inexperienced wreck divers Giant basket and stinking vase sponges, starfish, clams, shrimp.
Bat Brook Shallows
Depth:15 feet (5 m), Current: None, Visibily: good, Level: Novice, Points of Interest: Good for reptitive dives, French and gray angelfish.
Jill's Thrill
Depth: 110 feet (33 m, Current: None, Visibily: Good, Level: Novice, Points of Interest: Spanish mackerel and
small groups of spotted eagle rays are regularly seen here.
Randolph's Rocks
Depth: 60 feet (18 m), Current: None, Visibily: Good, Level: Novice, Points of Interest: Giant brain corals are especially prevalent as are deep water gorgonians.
HMS Advice

West Point Wall

Cabbage Patch

The Elbow

The Corral
Depth: 90 feet (27 m), Current: Strong, Visibily: Excellent, Level: Advanced, Points of Interest: Excelent for gorgonians.
The Zoo
Depth: 90 feet (27 m), Current: Strong, Visibily: Excelent, Level: Advanced, Points of Interest: nurse sharks Spotted Eagle Rays and Hawksbill turtle.
Three Amigos
Depth: 90 feet (27 m), Current: Strong, Visibily: Excelent, Level: Advanced, Points of Interest: nurse sharks Spotted Eagle Rays and Hawksbill turtle.
Myrtle's Turtles
Depth: Range: 60 ft (18 meters), Current: Strong, Visibily: 100ft (30 m), Level:Intermediate , Points of Interest: One of the best dive destinations, fantastic variety of tropical fish
and invertebrates.
Lefty's Ledge
Depth: 50 ft (15 meters), Current: Strong, Visibily: 80 feet (24 m), Level: Intermediate, Points of Interest:
the reef, featuring blue chromis, striped grunts, mutton snappers, black
durgons, blue tangs, damselfish, groupers and parrotfish, horse-eye
jacks, bar jacks, Spanish mackerels, creole wrasses, yellowtail snappers
and permits. Eagle rays, ocean triggerfish and barracudas can also be
seen, along with occasional appearances of hammerhead, black tip and bull
sharks.
Joyce's Jump and Gorgonian Bluff
Depth: 60 feet (18 m) deep., Current: none, Visibily: good, Level: Novice, Points of Interest: Blacktip sharks.
Billy Bob's Shallows
Depth: 25 feet (8 m), Current: None, Visibily: good, Level: Novice, Points of Interest: reef squid and
octopus.
Black Beauty
Depth: 60 ft (18 m), Current: strong, Visibily: excellent, Level: Intermediate, Points of Interest: Hudge Black Coral trees.
Majestic Point
Depth: 50 ft (15 meters), Current: Moderate, Visibily: 80 ft (24 meters), Level: , Points of Interest: Masive coral ridges.
T's Trail, Cut Throat and Front Porch
Depth: 50 ft (15m), Current: Moderate, Visibily: 80 ft (24 meters), Level: Intermediate, Points of Interest: dark blue toadfish.
Gail's Point
Depth: 45 ft (14m), Current: Moderate, Visibily: 80 ft (24 meters), Level: Intermediate, Points of Interest: Massive Coral ridge, caverns, Nassau, black, tiger and marble groupers can be seen
here in early December.
Blue Creek
Depth: 20-35 ft (6-10 meters), Current: None, Visibily: 50 ft (15m), Level: Novice, Points of Interest: Good night dive, crabs, lobsters, long spined black urchins.
Birthday Reef, The Secret Spot and Fabian's Roost
Depth: 60 feet (18 m), Current: moderate, Visibily: good, Level: novice, Points of Interest: rare oceanic whitetip shark.
Rendezvous Cut
Depth: 50 feet (12-15 m, Current: none, Visibily: moderate, Level: novice, Points of Interest: Most popular belze dive.
