Glovers Reef Specific Dive Sites

Listed below is a selection of some of the best dive sites on Glover's Reef. We have only briefly listed the points of interest. These are major dive attractions and are known to the diving freternity world wide. A detailed description is outside of the cope of our site.

Emerald Forest Reef

Depth: 15-70 ft (5-21 meters), Current: None, Visibily: ft (15 meters) , Level: Novice, Points of Interest: huge elkhorn coral, crabs, reef urchins, brittle starfish, snappers, groupers, trunkfish and angels.

Split Reefs

Depth: 40-100 ft (12-30 meters), Current: None, Visibily: 50 ft (15 meters) , Level: Intermediate, Points of Interest: virtually unlimited number of reef organisms, Magnificent stands of elkhorn, meandrine brain, large cactus, thin fungus and staghorn coral form crowded coral stands. Colorful sea whips, sea rods, corky sea fingers and Venus sea fans.

Baking Swash Reef

Depth: 15-100 ft (5-30 meters), Current: None, Visibily: 70 ft (21 meters) , Level: Novice, Points of Interest: Huge towers of coral, lace coral, most of the Caribbean species of hard and soft corals.

Southwest Caye Wall

Depth: Typical Depth Range: 50 (15 meters), Current: Minimal, Visibily: 90 ft (28 meters), Level: Intermediate, Points of Interest: giant overhangs.

Middle Caye Reef's

Depth: 20 ft (6 meters), Current: Minimal, Visibily: , Level: Intermediate, Points of Interest: exceptional diving opportunities, Reef urchins, red boring sponges, and many other kinds of organisms hide or live on these large elongated coral growths, less common stony corals such as meandrine brain, rare rose, giant brain, large flower and large cactus corals. Forked sea feathers, knobby candelabra, deadman's fingers and common bushy soft corals sway elegantly on the reef surface. Red finger, lavender tube, giant tube and variable sponges, small shrimp, crabs, orange sea.

Long Caye Wall

Depth: 30 ft (9 meters), Current: None, Visibily: 90 ft (28 meters), Level: Novice, Points of Interest: easy for snorkelers, Fire coral and elkhorn coral, Garden eels, Every kind of soft coral imaginable, Turtles, eagle rays, manta rays and barracudas.

Grouper Flats

Depth: 40-60 ft (12-18 meters), Current: None, Visibily: 70 ft (21 meters), Level: Intermediate, Points of Interest: many groupers Nassau, tiger, black, spotted and marble grouper.

Shark Point

Depth: 50-90 ft (15-27 meters), Current: Strong, Visibily: 100 ft (30 meters), Level: Intermediate, Points of Interest: Nurse, blacktip sharks, sensational dive site. hammerhead and tiger sharks.
